A first look into your property’s past – with room to go further…

A brief focused report which offers a two-hour investigation into the history of your home. Designed to uncover key facts and potential research directions. Ideal for gifts, curiosity, adding sentimental value property sales, or before committing to a house history package. Delivered as a printed report, this concise investigation includes core discoveries from primary and secondary sources, record transcription, chronological timeline, brief analysis and context, and optional recommendations for future research. If you’d like a more extensive search, 1 additional hour’s research may be added, charged at £50 per hour based on two researchers working on your project. If any further research is required, we offer the option to upgrade to one of our home histories packages; Foundations, Inheritance, or Provenance.

Presented in a visually appealing report style print, Foundations is a perfect gift, or as a dedicated exploration for those ready to take a glimpse into the history of their home.

Depending on what records survive for your property, this research draws upon deeds, wills, maps, architectural plans, and census, tax, and sales records, and more, weaving together a rich, chronological narrative that captures the life of your property across centuries. We will explore ownership, occupancy, context, and change, connecting your home to the broader local and natural history.
Presented as a fully referenced, narrative hardback, Provenance is a definitive history of your property – an heirloom in its own right.
